Yoga and Physical Health By Dr. Suhani Patel
As a regular practitioner of yoga and a student of Aum Yoga Vedanta Center, I can attest to the profound impact it has had on both my physical and mental health. Through the practice of various postures, breathing techniques, and meditation, yoga has improved my flexibility, strength, and overall physical well-being.
On a physical level, regular yoga practice has significantly improved my flexibility and range of motion. As a Doctor, I have always been interested in maintaining a high level of physical fitness, but yoga has taken my physical abilities to a whole new level. I have been able to improve my balance and stability, and my muscles are more toned and defined.
But the benefits of yoga go far beyond the physical. The practice of mindfulness and breath control has had a profound impact on my mental health and well-being. Through regular yoga practice, I have learned to quiet my mind and focus on the present moment. This has helped me to reduce stress and anxiety, improve cognition, and to cultivate a sense of self awareness, inner peace and calm. I have also noticed an improvement in my sleep quality and an overall increase in my energy levels.
In addition to the physical and mental benefits of yoga, I have also experienced a sense of community and connection to my surroundings in an absolutely mindful manner through my regular practice. The support and guidance of my yoga instructors, as well as the camaraderie of my fellow practitioners, has provided a sense of belonging and connection that has been incredibly valuable to me. Intergrating my yoga practice both asana and pranayam along with allopathy medicine has helped me provide benefits of yoga to a lot of my patients as well.
I highly recommend regular yoga practice to anyone seeking to improve their physical and mental health. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned practitioner, the benefits of yoga are truly limitless.
